Black News Channel just launched and it’s a 24/7 news network built exclusively “by black people, for black people.

The Black News Channel (BNC) is partnering with the nation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) that will provide access to a rich and diverse pool of academic experts, authors, and specialists who will serve as the network’s nightly on-air contributing analysts.

On 2/11/2020 the BNC launched its news programming. And now for the first time, African Americans can watch a cable news network that can relate directly to them.

BNC has joined the ranks of other popular network news channels like CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC on cable networks.

And with a potential market of 33 million viewers, BNC has the potential to become a very popular and watched news channel.

Based out of Tallahassee, Florida, their focus is to provide content that resonates with the black culture like no other news channel available today can. But their mission is also to “Build bridges to connect the many diverse cultures in our nation.”

A Nice Mixture of Quality Content

From sports, to women lifestyle and all kinds of news in between, BNC will offer a nice mix of content.

Conservative or Progressive Slant?

Unlike other news channel which lean either too far right or too far left. This channel aims to be as neutral as possible and favor neither.

How to Watch the Black News Channel

Currently this channel is only available on the following platforms.

  • Spectrum
  • XFinity X-1 Platform
  • Dish Network

Plans are also in the works to make to make BNC available on The Roku Channel, Sling, Vizio Smart TVs, and on the Xumo app.

Once this app becomes more widely available cord cutters may also get their chance to subscribe or watch limited content for free. A lot depends on how many advertisers sign on.
